Behavior Technician Intern
Location & Schedule
- Placements are in person in Fairfax County, Prince William County, the City of Alexandria, and Arlington County.
- Expected start date: Flexible.
- Interns must complete a minimum of 8 weeks and 120 hours.
- Compensation: $22/hour.
- Flexible work schedule.
Direct Therapy Responsibilities
- Provide quality one-on-one instruction to clients with developmental delays in communication, social, play, and adaptive skills.
- Implement individualized and group programs that develop social, language, life, and academic skills.
- Deliver therapy in clinic, home, or community settings as assigned.
- Collect and record objective data during sessions using assigned tools.
- Encourage appropriate communication and social interaction throughout sessions.
- Support a structured and organized therapy environment.
- Maintain client program materials, notes, and data sheets.
- Graph client data and maintain updated records.
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs with assessments, instruction, and communication.
Team Responsibilities
- Attend all required staff trainings and team meetings.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, supervisors, and caregivers.
- Respond to emails, phone messages, and other communications within 24 hours.
- Participate in scheduled team progress meetings.
- Provide updates regarding client and family status through appropriate communication channels.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with special needs preferred.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Successful completion of background and child abuse registry checks.
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with Google Workspace.
