Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Direct Therapy Responsibilities
- Provide quality one-on-one instruction to clients with developmental delays in communication, social, play, and adaptive skills.
- Implement individualized and group programs that develop social, language, life, and academic skills for clients with developmental delays.
- Deliver therapy in clinic, home, or community settings as assigned.
- Collect and record objective data during sessions using assigned tools (e.g., data sheets and SOAP notes).
- Encourage appropriate communication and social interaction during sessions.
- Support a structured and orderly therapy environment.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized client program materials and notes.
- Graph client data and maintain updated data sheets.
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs with ongoing assessments, instruction, and communication for clients enrolled in services.
- Maintain RBT certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Assist BCBAs and BCaBAs in conducting skill assessments and preparing therapy materials.
- Support intake assessments and help orient new clients as needed.
- Summarize client progress when requested for team meetings or reports.
- Enter client goals and programs into data platforms under BCBA supervision.
- Audit therapy session notes and materials for accuracy and completeness when assigned.
- Track inventory of clinic materials and report supply needs.
Team Responsibilities
- Attend all required staff trainings and team meetings.
- Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Attend mandatory RBT supervision hours in compliance with BACB standards.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, supervisors, and caregivers.
- Receive and respond appropriately to voice messages, emails, faxes, and mail within 24 hours.
- Regularly report outcomes to supervisors and parents through scheduled team progress meetings.
- Update team members on client and family status through voicemail, email, team meetings, and other appropriate modes of communication.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and professional codes of conduct.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a high school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with special needs.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Successful completion of criminal history background and child abuse registry checks.
- Must be proficient with personal computers and familiar with Google Workspace.
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB.
- Commitment to maintaining ongoing RBT supervision requirements and continuing education.
